The White County Parks and Recreation Department offers youth basketball leagues for children between the ages of 3 and 17. Players learn the basic fundamentals of the game, technical skills, and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment. A copy of each participant's birth certificate is required. All coaches (head and assistant) must complete a coaching application and a criminal background check before coaching.
2025-26 Heroes Basketball
- If your child’s disability makes it hard for him/her to participate in recreational sports
- If your child needs social skills-building practice
- If your child needs a way to get a little exercise in a non-judgmental environment
- If your child needs a safe, friendly environment to learn basic sports skills with caring, experienced coaches and volunteers who understand the special needs of children with mobility issues, learning disabilities, autism or other needs...Consider registering him/her for our HEROES LEAGUE!

These leagues provide girls a chance to learn and play the sport of volleyball in a fun and safe environment (all skill levels welcome). Primary focus includes both instruction and game-play.

The WCPRD youth football program promotes the development of the youth in our community in the sport of football, by teaching fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. We are affiliated with the Mountain Football League. A copy of each participant's birth certificate is required. 2026 Fall Cheerleading
Registration Dates: April 20, 2026 - May 30, 2026
Age Groups: Kindergarten - 6th Grade
Fee: $110
The WCPRD cheerleading program teaches young athletes the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the home team. Cheer participants will learn cheers, proper hand and body movements, as well as jumping techniques. Youth cheer focuses on fun! A copy of each participant's birth certificate is required. All coaches (head and assistant) must complete a coaching application and a criminal background check before coaching.
