Frequently Asked Questions

If you are a registered voter and do not have a Georgia driver’s license or Georgia identification card, you can receive a free Georgia Voter Identification Card. In order to receive your free Georgia Voter Identification Card, you will need to present a document confirming your identity to your County Voter Registrar which includes the following:

  • your full legal name and date of birth;
  • and/or your full legal name and residential address.

 

You can use your voter identification card for voting purposes only.

When the Motor Voter Law went into effect, the Secretary of State set up six other alternative locations to register to vote:

  • Department of Driver Services (when renewing your driver's license)
  • Mail-in Applications
  • Department of Human Resources (Health Department or Department of Family and Children's Services)
  • State-funded offices for the physically disabled
  • Recruitment Offices
  • Public Libraries

If you meet the following qualifications, you can register at any of the locations shown or click on the link below to register online. To register to vote you must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States Be
  • A legal resident of the county
  • Be at least 17½ years of age (at least 18 to vote)
  • Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude

Board meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 9:00 am in the Voter Registrars Office which is located at the White County Mauney Building at 1241 Helen Hwy, Cleveland, 30528. These meeting are open to the public. 

 

The main location for voter registration in White County is the Office of Registrar, located in the Allen Mauney Building on Hwy 75 North, in front of the White County Sheriff's Office.

Any resident 17½ years old or older may receive an application from an organization, political party or individual who has requested blank forms from our office or from the office of the Secretary of State. The organizations, political parties or individuals distributing these forms may not accept them back once they are filled out.
