Registration/Tag Renewal

Motor vehicles in Georgia require proper registration. Part of this registration process is continual renewal. Vehicle owners should receive a renewal notice in the mail when the current registration is close to expiring.

 

Methods of Renewal

The Department of Revenue provides several methods where citizens may pay their registration fees:

  • Online: Vehicle tags may be renewed online by visiting the Department of Revenue's webite.
  • Telephone: Vehicle tags may be renewed via telephone by calling the Department of Revenue at 1-877-496-0249. This number is available 24/7.
  • Mail: Citizens may renew their vehicle registration via mail. Renewals payed by mail should be submitted 30 days before the tag is set to expire.
  • In-Person: White County residents may renew their registration/tag at the Tax Commissioner's Office by bringing the following documents:
    • Renewal Notice
    • Valid Georgia's Driver's License or ID reflecting your White County Address
    • Proof of Insurance in Georgia
    • Payment Method
