Land Disturbance

Call the Planning Department at 706-865-6768 before undertaking land disturbance activities.

Any project where the land disturbance is greater than 1 acre or within 200 feet of state waters, requires an erosion control plan that is drawn by a state licensed engineer.

Any land disturbance project that is less than 1 acre or zoned Agricultural and not within 200 feet of state waters will have to sign an exemption form.


Land disturbing activity: Any activity which may result in soil erosion from water or wind and the movement of sediments into state waters or onto lands within the state, including, but not limited to, clearing, dredging, grading, excavating, transporting, and filling of land but not including agricultural practices as described in subsection 30-33(5).
